Medical Notes :
Nelson came to BFF in a really poor state .
He had a massive abscess , a huge flea infestation which due to his allergies caused him to lose all his fur and he had been kicked in the face which permanently disfigured his nose and mouth as well as shattering his front teeth which required a massive dental to remove all the broken teeth .
Since being in care he has had a number of blood tests, surgery, biopsies and many different treatments and we unfortunately do not have a definitive diagnosis
His biopsies show he has an allergic/immune mediated skin condition that he is likely to have for the rest of his life. He is currently on medication and is growing more hair again. He is also continuing to require some bathing for the fungal infections on his paws

He is likely to require ongoing medication in some form for the rest of his life.

He is FeLV and FIV negative

Nelson is the world's best snuggler and he will thank you with an instant purr for giving him attention.
If you allow him on your lap he will not leave until he decides it is time for food. Nelson had a rough life and was on the doorstep to death when he came into our care but within days he opened his big heart and decided that all humans are his friends, no matter if small or tall and he is happy to give you all the love he has to give.
He sometimes got annoyed with the treatments he needs to help him recover and maintain a healthy as possible life but patiently he took on whatever needed to be done and will continue to do so .
For someone so failed by humans Nelson has never showed any signs of aggression and he is always seeks comfort from his humans by way of cuddles and purrs or just content to sit there beside you for company.
Nelson is looking for someone who is home a lot and someone who is prepared to accept him just as adorable as he is in his own way. Someone who can see his big heart und who is prepared to give him a loving forever home and help maintain his skin issues . He is not that keen on his carers young active puppy but befriended their old cat without hesitation .
He would be ok with an older, quieter dog who would respect his space as they don't scare him that much as a boisterous puppy .
