Dozer ~ Ridgeback X Puppy(On Trial 28/7/22)

Who wouldn’t love a smoochable, huggable, adorable bundle of puppy energy.

Dozer is a handsome, confident 9 week old male Rhodesian Ridgeback x. He is currently in foster with 3 other dogs (small and large) aged 4 months to 11 years, 2 cats, and 3 children under 12. Dozer gets along well with the kids and other dogs, and generally ignores the cats.

He is a complete snugglebug, and loves cuddles and pats, especially snuggling with his foster carer on the couch for naps! Super smart AND food motivated, he’s a breeze to train. On his first day in his new foster home his puppy energy was able to be channelled and he very quickly learnt sit, touch, and legs. He is also crate trained. He;s in the process of being toilet trained but he’s making great progress on that front.

Dozer doesn’t enjoy being left on his own yet, but with the right reward (like a pig's ear), he can be convinced that the world isn’t ending while he's alone. At the moment, he copes well when he is left alone with his foster sister, and training for him to be left completely alone is still underway. Ideally Dozer’s favourite family will have a sibling for him to play with.

Dozer will be a large active dog, and will need energetic owners, willing to commit to taking him on daily walks. Dozer would prefer not to be left alone for extended periods of time, so would prefer an owner that is home more often than not. Being a very clever boy, he would benefit from having continued training to keep his mind stimulated.

As Dozer is not yet desexed or had all his vaccinations, he is only available for adoption to Sydney, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he will need to be returned for this vet work to be done. Please NO out of area applications, as they will not be replied to.

As his breed may be predisposed to hip, knee and elbow problems, we strongly recommend that Dozer have comprehensive pet insurance from the get go.

Dozer's adoption fee is $700 which includes all up to date vet work. Dozer is microchipped, vaccinated (adoption fee includes second vaccination), treated for fleas and worms and his desexing is also covered by the adoption fee.
