About Bruce
Well hi, so glad you clicked on my bio soooo my name is Bruce and I am a 2 year and 10 month old Boston Terrier
I came into care as a pretty quiet, nervous boy but I spent some time at my foster carers house and bam I came out of the box and showed everyone what a true Boston Terrier is like!
The definition of a Boston Terrier is a compact, short-tailed little dog. The stylish ‘tuxedo’ coat can be white and either black, brindle or seal (dark brown). The head is square, the muzzle is short , and the large, round eyes can shine with kindness, curiosity, or mischief ………….. well I have the tuxedo – so yeah. I have the short muzzle – so yeah, and oh boy do I have the eyes - the large, round eyes that can shine with kindness, curiosity, or mischief - I have that in spades!!!
I also have two different color eyes and I'm very expressive with them eyes to show sadness, nervousness and also excitement. Wanna see excitement – show me a tennis ball – oh boy do I love a good tennis ball – I will play fetch for hours if you let me. All jokes aside my foster mum has had to be very strict with me each day so I don’t spend 24/7 with my tennis ball wanting to play fetch.
I'm a happy and bouncy little guy that can't wait to meet my forever family. I have been living with my foster parents and fur siblings for a little while now, but it's time for me to move into my new home.
I am currently in care with all sizes and ages of dogs and I am great with all (I did hump a bit when I first came but that has stopped now – I got the snip!)
I love to play with the other dogs but then also very happy to play by myself thru the day – especially when playing fetch. Since I live with a medium breed dog (bulldog) at the moment, I know that I like company and love playing, I would love to go to a home where there is another dog to play with – I love to wrestle and play chasey and have a partner for going for walks with.
As I said before I came into care nervous and timid, I am out of the box now but I can be a little shy and unsure of new people, so I'm hoping that my new family can understand that I'm still learning to be confident in new places.
I am currently hanging out with a 9 year old who is great but my foster mum has said that if I go to a home with young kids they need to be mindful when I’m playing fetch / tug-of-war I can be like a crocodile and snap for the toy – there is no mean bone in my body it’s just snapping cause I really really want the tennis ball!
I have hung out for a day with a cat – I was curious but respectful – mind you the cat did tell me straight away the rules – cats are the boss me not so much
My ideal home will be with someone who is home more often than not or who works from home – I’m still young so I would like to be a part of my families lives. I do sleep on my foster mums bed and this is something I would like to continue with – I mean just think we can snuggle on the couch and then snuggle in bed together (after you have told me how cute I am at least 3 times that day!)
I am toilet trained

Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
