Maddoc is a real sweetheart, she entertains her carers with her funny, sweet antics.

She has the most adorable four-legged bounce when excited by a bug or snail, she frolics around the backyard chasing butterflies, and always gives the biggest goofy grin whenever you ask what she’s doing. She likes to steal things but will always come skipping past you to show you what she’s found, and when she gets ‘the zoomies’ she spins so fast she topples over.

Maddoc constantly has us in stitches and radiates happiness. It is impossible to have a bad day when she’s around. Maddoc the clown will quickly become the best entertainment in your house for many years to come.

She is still figuring out cuddling but will always sit beside you on the couch and adores a nap on the bed together. She loves to be a part of whatever you’re doing, a very curious and loyal companion.

Maddoc is friendly to a fault, is determined to win over every human she meets. She loves new people in the house, and on walks she tries her hardest to say hello to every single person, child and dog she sees. She is very confident, and she will need secure fencing to keep her from wandering over and introducing herself to the neighbours one by one.

She has responded quickly to training, improving drastically in her house manners and people skills in a short time. She is housetrained, can sit, leave, wait, back up, shake hands, and heel on a lead. We have also been playing at agility courses where she’s a natural and learnt the jumps and tunnels with ease and seems to enjoy learning.

Maddoc is a very strong, large dog. She can walk beautifully on lead although, being determined to make new friends all the time can make walking past people/dogs tricky -she currently enjoys dragging her carer into front yards of houses where children are playing, desperate to say hello. It is imperative Maddoc’s new human/s are physically capable of controlling her, as well as someone committed to her ongoing training.

Maddoc adores kids, toddlers and wants to stick her head in every pram, unfortunately she is not suited to homes with small children – she is simply too big and too clumsy. Maddoc is not cat friendly, cat/possum watching is her favourite evening pastime. With training she has been taught to leave birds/chickens alone, further training could allow her to tolerate cat companions in the future.

This is a once in a lifetime dog, she has so much love and joy to give. If you are as dedicated to Maddoc as she will be to you, the possibilities of what she can do are boundless and your bond will be unlike anything else. However her size and strength (as well as a touch of stubbornness) are not to be ignored. It is important applicants for Maddoc have previous experience handling and training large breed dogs.
