About Esther & Everett - In foster care in Flemington
Have you been searching for a beautiful pair of cats? Look no further as the best pair are right here; Esther and Everett! This ginger & calico tabby duo are sure to make you smile and laugh everyday with their sweet & hilarious personalities.
Esther is a sweet, shy & affectionate girl to the people she trusts. She loves to climb onto your chest and lap whenever you sit down and fall asleep on you, purring away. She is also very talkative and wants to chat with you all day so conversing with her is a breeze, whether it’s in cat or human language! She loves to play with her son but is less interested in toys (unless it’s when she carries around her chicken toy), but loves a little treat and a zoomies session.
Everett, the typical orange boy, is a playful, energetic and food driven man! He absolutely loves to play with his mouse toy and run up and down the stairs for hours. He will then retreat to his favourite cardboard box or a Squishmallow and take a nap. He has a fondness for cat tv, but make sure you don’t let him get square eyes!
They both love a cuddle and will sleep with you all night, and sometimes you’ll catch them cuddling together and grooming each other. They absolutely love to play fight with each other and pull out incredible WWE moves, which is very impressive. The biscuit factory is always open for business when they’re together as well; and they make amazing loaves of bread too (see pics & vids!)
Esther has tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus however she is showing no clinical signs of disease. Currently, Esther is living healthily with a regressive stage of disease which she may end up fighting off - regular testing can help to track progression. Her son, Everett, has tested negative. Being a contagious disease a household with no other cats is crucial, but you already have the perfect made family! They are STRICTLY indoor cats, however they love to watch the world go by on their cat hammock.

Medical notes
Hi, I'm Esther. I'm a young mum who's been fighting off something called FeLV. It's been a tough few months, but I'm hopeful that my immune system is strong enough to clear the virus before it binds to my DNA. I'm a fighter and I'm determined to beat this thing.
If I can beat the virus, I'll make a full recovery and live a long, happy life. But if it binds to my DNA, I'll be at risk of developing Leukaemia. That's why it's important for me to be in a low-stress indoor environment with just my current companion.
FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus, is a contagious virus that affects cats. It can be transmitted through bites and less commonly, through sharing of saliva in water bowls, mutual grooming or sharing litter boxes. The virus can cause various health problems, such as anaemia, cancer, and other infections, and can eventually lead to death. Cats with FeLV may not show any symptoms for months or years, making it important to have cats tested regularly. There is no cure for FeLV, but supportive care and management can help affected cats live longer and more comfortable lives.
If Esther is successful in fighting off the virus she will make a full recovery. If she is unfortunate enough for it to bind to her DNA she will be prone to developing Leukaemia. We are hopeful in a low stress indoor only environment Esther will beat this virus and live a long and happy life.
FeLV is contagious to other cats and spreads via bites, and less commonly by sharing saliva in water bowls. It is recommended Esther be adopted into a single cat household, with just her current companion. She will need a regular blood test every 6-8 weeks to monitor her condition until she has either succeeded in clearing the virus or until it has bound to her DNA.
Everett is the bonded companion of Esther who is currently testing positive for FeLV. Everett has tested negative each month and is in good health. There is still a chance he may contract it, but this risk is greatly reduced by daily cleaning of water bowls.
