About Xena
Xena had a great time on Saturday, 26th November at PETstock. Port Macquarie, where she met Santa and put in her Christmas Wish List! She met lots of other friendly dogs and was just so well behaved. She really wants to find a loving home, where she can have the great life that she deserves - Xena doesn't think that is too much to ask!!
We can't understand why Xena has not been adopted - there has been very little interest in her. We understand that a huge volume of medium-large dogs have come back into rescue groups and pounds after the Covid pet adoption explosion. But Xena is very special!!
Xena is approximately 5 years of age. She was rescued by Midcoast Dog Rescue from a pound where she had found herself after having a litter of 13 puppies. She was in a very emaciated condition, one of the worst cases we have ever seen in our 19 years of dog rescue. Her future did not look bright at all and she needed a huge amount of care and rehabilitation.
She has been in a loving foster care home where she has enjoyed the luxury of home-cooked meals and plenty of love. She has put on the desired amount of weight and is now ready to be placed with a new owner.
More about Xena: She has a beautiful sweet nature, loves walking and running and having human company. She is definitely not good with cats and can't be placed with a family where there are cats or very small animals. NO children under the age of 12, but would benefit from the company of another medium to large dog. She is very dog friendly and has many dog companions in her foster home.
She is very obedient, is a quick learner and responds to commands easily, loves to run but comes back when called. She obviously never had toys to play with and shows no interest in them whatsoever.
Xena is de-sexed and fully vaccinated. She has a short coat which is easy maintenance - not a lot of grooming involved - just a nice shampoo when she gets dirty!
This beautiful girl deserves to have a loving home where she is part of the family, something that she has sadly missed out on for the first 4+ years of her life.
Secure fencing and gates (preferably colourbond) are a must, with a medium sized back yard for her to run around in, and ideally an owner who doesn't work full-time so she is not left alone at home all day would be perfect for Xena.
Xena is ready for adoption now, so if you think you might be able to provide her with the loving home that she so deserves, kindly send us an enquiry email. Please help us find her the loving home she so deserves. Thank you.
Adoption details
The first step is to phone or email Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. for assessment regarding prospective ownership and pet suitability.

All Midcoast Dog Rescue animals come desexed, microchipped, vaccinated (up to date), vet checked ,wormed, flea and tick treated.
.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
