CAR
Mezzii travels well In a car, loves sticking his head out the window. He does like to try and sit in the front so it's important he is harnessed in correctly
FOOD
Mezz is extremely food motivated. Like all Labradors he is quite a guts when given the opportunity. Blink and it’s all gone.
Being very food motivated its a great tool for his training
OUTSIDE/ INSIDE
He is most definitely an inside dog, we’ve trained him to stay in his bed whilst inside and he is free to roam outside during the day whilst we’re at work. He loves a cuddle on the couch and is always desperate for pats and affection.
Mezzii will definitely require a home that he can be inside while his humans are home
VISITORS
He loves people and is always eager to meet new ones! Mezzii is definitely a peoples person and not a fellow animal lover
We have not had him around children but feel he will be fine
ENRICHMENT/ INDEPENDENCE
When left alone for too long Mezz reverts to his Labrador ways and will chew up whatever is left for him to access. It is important for him to have toys available to him that he won’t tear to shreds eg. balls, kongs, bones. and plenty to keep him entertained while he is alone or its game on for him with whatever you leave out....
LEAD EXPERIENCE
Mezzii requires ongoing regular exercise, he does not walk well on a lead but this will progress with regular training. He is quite a big boy and with that, the strength of his pulling is something that needs to be handled by an adult. He is reactive and will bark and bounce around at the sight of another dog.
We will be seeking an experienced home that have the time and skills to assist him with his lead skills
OBEDIENCE
He knows the commands; sit, stay, wait, eat and up. He responds better when these commands are accompanied with hand movements. He’s a quick study especially using treats and I hope to see him further progress with training.
DOG SOCIALISATION
Mezzii has not been socialised properly with other dogs. He is only suited to a one dog home. He will need continuous training and support in order to be dog social. We have not tested him with cats but based on his dislike of other dogs we are confident he won't do well with any other pets
SLEEPING HABITS
Mezzii sleeps through the night, with an ongoing snore.
TOILET TRAINING
Mezzii is fully toilet trained and has never had an accident in my care.
IDEAL HOME
A household with active adults and plenty to keep him occupied.
Mezzii requires a large secure yard with plenty of shade and sehlet and grass to play
Mezzii must be an inside dog when his family are home as he needs to be a part of his family
As we have clearly outlines Mezzii is not good with other dogs and will require a home that have the skills to walk him and help him with his dislike of others
We are seeking a home that can keep him walked and exercised with plenty of enrichment
