Hi, my name is Leo! I'm a 1 year old Kelpie mix male who is an absolute sweetheart with the whole family.

I would suit a family with little people for me to love or someone who is home a lot or has another dog of any size to play with as I have a lot of love to share. I don't have any instincts for working livestock but I will happily hang out with my foster family on the farm while the professional dogs work. I am house trained and know how to use a doggie door and will gladly be a lap dog but I'm also happy to stay outside with the other dogs and supervise the yard. I don't jump the farm fences and can be trusted to stay in the yard when people come in and out the front gate and greet new people with lots of kisses. I would suit an adventurous family as I'm the perfect hiking, camping, day trips to the beach type dog who is very loveable and reliable.

I'm very gentle with the whole family. My foster family has 4 children aged 3-9 and I love to be involved with anything they are doing be it farm work, bike rides, BBQs, kids parties and hiking. I am happy just to be included and I don't get boisterous in hectic situations. I like to fetch sticks and balls but not obsessed with fetching. I enjoy new adventures and love riding in the car by myself or with the rest of the pack.

I have great recall and have been out on hikes and large farms with no lead necessary. I sit, come, heel, stay and drop. I don't jump on people when I'm excited and can be trusted not to snatch food if little people are eating next to me. I jump in the car when asked and I am very happy to share food and bones with anybody. I do need a bit more work on lead, as I can pull a bit too much sometimes but I'm a very enthusiastic student so this will be easily worked on. I am great with dogs and puppies of all sizes and ages, cats and most livestock including chickens, alpaca, sheep, goats and horses.
