About Simba
Stunning Simba is a 10-month-old male German Shepherd who finds himself in need of a new home due to no fault of his own.
Simba is still a typical puppy that needs to fine-tune his manners; he jumps up for attention and will snatch treats excitedly when he is overstimulated. Simba needs to work on his impulse control and whilst friendly with little humans, does accidently knock them over. Simba is best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 8 years old.
Simba knows his basic commands and can sit, drop, shake and leave it; he is very clever and is extremely food motivated, learning new things quickly. Simba would thrive attending reward-based obedience classes where he can learn to focus and work on his general manners, it will not take him long to learn what is expected of him once clear boundaries are put in place.
Simba gets very excited when going out for a walk, he pulls hard trying to reach every smell in record time, Simba has shown potential to heal when motivated by a reward, however this is an ongoing project and will need to be worked on with his new family. Simba needs daily exercise and will need an owner physically capable of walking him who will undertake regular training and focus sessions to help Simba walk nicely.
Simba has previously enjoyed playing with other dogs; however, he is now reactive to other animals when out on a walk due to being attacked at a dog park a short time ago. Simba now uses his big bark to make himself seem as scary as possible to other dogs. Simba has shown he can ignore other dogs when doing obedience, and with time and slow introductions that he can be calm and focus on his handler. Simba needs someone who is dedicated to helping him feel comfortable around other animals again, he needs gradual, positive experiences in a controlled environment such as group training so that he can work on his social skills. For now, Simba needs to be the only pet in his new home.
Simba is very sweet and settles nicely in the home, he can often be found snoozing on the couch or following his humans trying to ‘help’ around the house. Simba is very affectionate to those he loves most and is a very loyal boy who only wants to please, he just needs someone to teach him how!

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
