About Mika
Hi Everybody, This is MIKA
She was rescued from the street of rural NSW. She used to sleep on the street in the gutter to keep warm. At a young age of 1.5yo Mika has been neglected by her owner and left to fend for herself.
Since arriving in our foster family 5 weeks ago Mika has learned so many skills needed to maneuver the human world. This includes toilet trained, house trained and walking on leash.
***True to her breed Staffy x JackRussellTerrier; Mika is a friendly, confident & cheeky lady.
***She adores food, going for walks and most of all cuddling up to humans and giving smooches.
***She is sassy, smart, extremely funny & charming. Having absolutely no training prior to coming into our care, she has quickly learnt some basic commands including sit, stay, wait, come & walking on a leash, however, she would still benefit from further obedience training.
***She responds extremely well to positive reinforcement & treats.
***Her adoption includes mandatory enrollment to obedience school or a family that has the experience and skills to train a young dog like Mika using positive reinforcement.
Mika is not for 1st time dog owner.
Mika would suit an active family who would take her on outings and generally be made a part of the family. She is an indoor dog, she loves car rides and playing with other dogs and can be boisterous sometimes. She is still learning to dog properly .
A family with a mature well behave dog will suits Mika , this way she can learn from the other dog too.
She is used to teenage kids and would likely suit a family with older children (school aged +) due to the need to develop further obedience skills. Like most dogs, she needs her family to be home more often than not but she is not high maintenance at home , she is happy just to sleep near you for most of the day, especially after a vigorous walk!
For a young dog she is independent and doesnt have separation anxiety. She is crate trained too and knows how to use the dog door.
She sleeps in her own bed. She will suit a family who has the time, energy & commitment to continue with basic obedience training. A family that will include her as a part of the team.
She is not suited for 1st time dog owner or someone who live in an apartment.
BONUS : Mika is one of the most loving little dogs we have ever had the pleasure of knowing and her current foster family will absolutely want to mind her for her new family if they ever need dog sitting (in fact, we insist! ;-)).
PLEASE READ Mika's Requirements carefully and only apply if you have what she needs.
