About Jessie
Hey there; my name is Jessie
I recently came into the care of Helping Hearts after my family didn't come looking for me at the pound. I could have been missing for ages though; I was very skinny and very below my recommended weight. My spine was showing, I had visible hip bones and quite a few fly bites on my ears. But dont let my struggles get you down as now I am thriving in care. With proper nutrition and weekly weigh-ins under the watchful eye of our supporting vets I have reached my goal weight of around 18kg. I am doing so well on my training and learning to manage my mild separation anxiety and now im on the search for my new furrever family.
Now, enough of the heavy and let me tell you all the great things about me. I love kids! first up, they are my everything and the remainder of the family comes in at a close second.
Im extremely dog social and love to get out and about in the community to meet everyone; 2 legged and 4. A run around the park with a ball is my down right favourite thing to do; I go absolutely nuts when there is one around and its a great way to keep my occupied and busy but if its a raining day and the family just needs to get out and about in the car then that's absolutely fine with me as I love car rides, sticking my head out the window, enjoying the wind through my ears; its pure bliss.
Im good with cats if they are dog savvy and let me know if I am intruding in their space.
I still need ongoing training. My recall and lead pulling are the two main things I need the most help on but I promise I am a very quick learner as food is my best friend; can you blame me? its been a rough few months/years and I am drawn to those yummy things called treats and dinner time.
I think the sort of family that suits me would be with someone home more times than not or in the company of other dogs. I love being inside but I am also quite content being outside with my Kong's, balls and mental stimulation. I am working on being completely housetrained however as this is new to me I occasionally still have a whoopsie so your help with this in my new home would be appreciated.
If I sound like the perfect new addition to your family; please reach out to my foster mum! I truly just want to give you love and cuddles on the lounge and find a home that will look after me <3
