About Bucky ~ 2yr Old Kelpie(On Trial 7/8/22)
Bucky is a gorgeous 2 year old Kelpie with a happy, active nature and a lot of love to offer.
Bucky has good basic manners, and since coming into care he has learnt some basic commands including sit, down and stay. He has proven to be very smart and a quick learner. Bucky has great recall and is very well behaved out and about.
Bucky makes a great running buddy and also loves adventures to the river, beach or camping. He loves to go anywhere with you and makes a great companion out at brunch or kids sports games.
Bucky does suffer seizures approximately every 2 months. While this does not slow him down he needs a family willing to manage this for the rest of his life with daily medication and regular vet visits. He is currently on a herbal medication, and there are many options for medication which can be used in managing seizures which can be discussed with serious and suitable potential applicants.
As a working breed dog, Bucky requires daily exercise and play. Bucky LOVES his ball and will chase it for as long as you are willing to throw it for him, but also needs other mental and physical exercise through the day.
Bucky currently lives with 2 other dogs and loves to play. He is very friendly with other dogs and has met chickens without incident, we believe he would be able to live with smaller pets with proper introduction and supervision. Bucky is also good with kids.
Bucky would love a home where he is around people as much as possible and allowed to be a part of the family. He requires a family with time to exercise him for at least 30-60 minutes a day, and who will let him inside. He would enjoy another friendly, active dog to play with, however would also be OK as an only dog.
Bucky is in foster care in Maitland, NSW. His adoption fee is $500 which includes all up to date vet work. He is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped. You can contact Bucky’s foster carer at darcy.drn@outlook.com
