Blackie is ALL legs and LOVES food !!!!

He is still quite young and has lots of puppy tendencies.

Blackie is very gentle when taking treats from your hand and is always eager to impress you with his ability to sit and shake when asked.

He walks really well on the lead which is wonderful as a young boy like him needs to go on lots of fun outdoor adventures.

Blackie loves a good game with a tennis ball or
plush toys. He is a cheeky boy as he does like to run away with it in his mouth and wants you to chase after him. Blackie does let you take the toy from him without any issues, ready to start the game all over again.

At our shelter he has been good at keeping his coat on all night and keeps bed and bedding intact.

Other pets: Blackie loves playing with other dogs. He has had opportunities to interact with both males, females and an array of personalities. Blackie loved everyone.

If you have a small dog in your family they need be ok with big breed dogs because of Blackie’s size. He can play rough at times and likes to bop and jump around a lot while playing and smaller dog breeds may not appreciate the same zest he has for playing.

When Blackie met a cat, his initial reaction was to bark at it. Staff believe he just wanted to play and could potentially chase a cat if given the opportunity due to his playful and inquisitive nature.

Type of household: Behaviourally Blackie is an excitable young man. He will require further training and lots of exercise keep him content. He loves to learn and very food driven, so training this gorgeous boy is quite easy.

Blackie does need some ongoing training when it comes to his main meals, the food given to him in a dog bowl. He doesnt like to share it therefore he would need to be supervised if other canines are in his household. At this time due to this behaviour, we do not advise that Blackie be rehomed to a family with young children.

Blackie's adoption fee covers: microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
