About Cricket
Cricket is a sweet, confident and loving boy of approximately 5 months old. Born with underdeveloped back legs, including no toenails! He is very tiny for his age and only time will tell how much bigger he will grow. Despite his physical differences, Cricket has no problems getting around, following his foster carer everywhere, chasing and wrestling his toys and his little mate Charlie, climbing the catwalks in the catio, or jumping on an armchair for a snooze.
Cricket is a curious kitty and can't resist a dangly toy. He loves interactive play, especially when his carer brings out the wand toys, or tosses soft balls or mice for him to chase. He also loves hiding in the crinkly tunnels and pouncing on all the toys! There's a fabulous catio at his foster home, and he likes to go out there for some bird watching with the resident big cats in the mornings, sunning himself on one of the cushioned deck chairs or climbing the catwalks. He's confident and loving toward the big cats and happily follows them around, sits by their side, and tries to give them cheeky face rubs, but takes a hint if they ignore him and doesn't push it or annoy them.
Cricket loves to eat, and likes to tag team with his mate Charlie inspecting the fridge and asking their carer for a little snack in between mealtimes! Cricket also loves pats - chin, cheek and head scratches, and full body pats, which really gets his purr motor going. He will show you he loves you everyday by following you everywhere, brushing up against your legs, leaning into your pats, and being picked up for a cuddle in your arms. He loves to climb onto his foster carers lap for pats and he also loves a good natter, chirping and chatting away as he goes about his activities. Cricket can be a little bit needy, so would suit a home where he's not left alone for too long.
He loves his siblings-in-care too, especially Charlie, playing and exploring together and curling up in each others arms for a grooming session followed by a nap. With Cricket's physical differences, it's essential that he find an indoor only home, preferably with access to a catio. Lacking half his claws causes a significant disadvantage if he needed to defend himself. He will be fine sharing a home with other cats providing they're gentle and friendly. Cricket hasn't been introduced to dogs, or children, but he is very gentle and loving and will potentially settle into a home with gentle kids of all ages who can show him lots of love and playtime.
If you're considering adopting two kittens, Cricket would love to be adopted with his mate Charlie!
