About Freddo
This extremely special boy is Freddo. He came to us from a rural NSW facility and his foster carers have described him fitting in so quickly it is like he’s always been there! He’s just so perfect.
Freddo quickly settled into the luxuries of foster care and enjoys nothing more than a snuggle with his people on the couch. He is very affectionate, but also self sufficient which is a nice combination. He will happily take himself off to his crate or bed if you are busy, but loves gardening with his carers or being included in household happenings.
This boy is Mr social. He absolutely loves other dogs and has interacted really well with every dog he met in the facility and while in care. He loves playing and rumbling and has great doggy etiquette. He is still working on his recall, so we suggest no off leash parks until this has been fine tuned, but he will need a home that will provide him with opportunities to walk and play with other friendly dogs. He is currently an only dog in care, but would happily share his home with another friendly dog.
He is great with people too! He enjoys meeting new people out and about and has been very gentle with the foster carers toddler aged grandchild. He does love to sneak a face lick on the grandchild who is at face height, so we suggest if his new home has children that they be slightly older to avoid the face licks. Coming from rural NSW, Sydney is all new to him and he is handling it very well, but his new owners should be committed to ongoing socialisation with other dogs and people.
At home this boy is just so well behaved. He is not destructive and is toilet trained and takes himself out through the doggy door when he needs to go. His foster carers have never heard him bark and he sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep. His foster carers have been testing his ability to be left home alone for short periods of time and so far so good, but his new owners should be home more often than not in lieu of another dog and be prepared to continue this gentle introduction to alone time. He will need a home with a backyard as he enjoys having a play and a sniff in the sun during the day.
Freddo is extremely smart and loves to please. He is picking new things up quickly and is learning new things everyday. He walks to heel on leash and is a delight to take out and about. He can be slightly hesitant to get into the car, but once in he is happy and enjoys going out for adventures. He does not like kibble and straight out refuses to eat it, so is enjoying a fresh food diet which his new owners should continue. He is good in the bath and doesn’t mind walking in all of this rain.
We just think Freddo is such a special dog and deserves nothing but the best in a forever home. He has moderate energy levels and will need a decent daily outing and some mental stimulation to ensure he is satisfied. He is the type of dog who will be someone’s best friend and make every adventure a lot of fun. We are looking for a home where he will be taken out on lots of fun outings to beaches, on bush walks and many other doggy friendly places.
Freddo must be allowed inside as part of the family and as a special request allowed on the couch with his people as this is one of his favourite past times, snuggling up on the couch and snoozing the evening away. He will need to be provided a warm and comfy bed to sleep inside on of a night.
If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate and social boy and can provide a dog with an amazing home full of fun and adventure, then Freddo might be your man. Please fill in an adoption enquiry application from our Fetching Dogs website as the next step in the process.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
