About Soda
This boy is just perfect ! Everyone who meets him absolutely falls in love and we can absolutely see why. Not only is he extremely handsome, but he is so adaptable - he just fits in like he’s always been there.
Soda is currently in care with a few other dogs who range in size and age and he is fabulous with all of them. Before coming into care he lived with 3 small dogs and was sharing a kennel at the pound with a small dog who he got on brilliantly with. He is playful with dogs who want to play with him and respectful of one’s who don’t. He is very social, but absolutely adores his people and will focus on his handler when out and about which is a massive bonus. He would be fine as an only dog or would be equally happy to share his space with another dog.
He is never far from his person and loves nothing more than a snuggle on the couch. He is great with children and would be happy to share his home with dog savvy kids as long as they don’t mind being jumped up on as he can be a tad over enthusiastic with his affection if he is happy to see you. His carer is working on this and with continued training he will soon learn paws on the floor gets you more love. He is social with everyone he meets out and about, but is loyal to his handler.
Soda is whip smart and is picking up training quickly. He walks well on lead and is learning basic commands. He LOVES his ball and prefers this as a training reward over food. His toilet training does need a little bit of work, he does not mark, but rather will forget to go outside if you don’t remind him. With correct and consistent management this will be fixed in no time. He thrives off praise and loves to please his humans. He initially barked in the car when arriving into care, but he now travels quietly in his crate and enjoys going out and about. His new owners should be committed to ongoing training.
Being a young working mix, Soda will require a decent amount of daily exercise. He is not highly strung, but will need a family committed to a good daily outing and some mental stimulation to keep him satisfied. He came from rural NSW so Sydney life is all new to him, so dog parks will be a bit too much for him at this stage, but he would love regular opportunities to play with known friendly dogs.
Soda is a great house mate and sleeps through the night without a peep. He has met the cat and seems uninterested by its presence, so we feel he could live with a cat as long as it is dog friendly and his new handlers know how to do introductions correctly. He will need a home with someone home most of the time in lieu of another dog, but would be happy to stay home part time with another dog for company as long as he is provided with adequate exercise and enrichment. We are looking for a home with a yard and a family who will allow him inside as part of the family. He will need to be provided a warm bed to sleep on inside of a night and fed a good quality diet.
This boy is a cracker of a dog and is going to make an extremely loyal and fun buddy for an amazing home. If you feel you are the right match for this delightful young chap, fill out an adoption enquiry form on our website as the next step in the process.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
