About Morgan
MORGAN is a sweet-tempered, playful and affectionate Border Collie/kelpie mix, born around 4 April 2021. She's a petite girl, weighs just 18 kgs and has the most beautiful amber eyes.
She came into care heavily pregnant and in April gave birth to 10 healthy pups, most of which have been rehomed.
Morgan is a mild-mannered girl and super clever. She enjoys human company, but is not needy or pushy. In fact, she has an independent streak that makes her easy to manage. She likes to spend time outside and is content to be in the background if the household is busy. When the grandchildren come to visit her foster home, she doesn't feel the need to make a fuss, but is available for pats if the children want to give her attention. All in all, she's a low maintenance, gentle dog with no aggressive tendences whatsoever.
Morgan has good recall and walks quite well on a lead. However, she lives on a farm and walks are mostly off-leash through the paddocks.
She is completely house-trained and likes to take herself off to the far reaches of the yard for toileting. She has a very low-shedding coat - in fact, her foster mum says she doesn't shed "at all" - and she's scrupulously clean.
She is very dog-friendly and outgoing. At the vet prior to her desexing, she was positively gregarious with the other dogs in the waiting room. She's not a barker, but will sound the bark alarm if someone pulls up in the driveway or comes to the door. She will stop barking if told to do so.
She gets on with some cats, as you can see in one of the photos, but she’s not necessarily friendly to all cats.
Morgan is happy to go for a swim in the river and will probably be quite enthusiastic about swimming when the weather warms up.
The ideal home for Morgan is one where there's space to run and play and there's at least one other compatible dog for her to play with. Ideally, her humans will be around most of the time. She'll need good fencing to keep her safe and sound. Prior experience with working dog breeds will be highly regarded.
Her adoption fee is $595 and she is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
