About Ben
Ben is a handsome 4-year-old Kelpie boy who loves nothing more than being close to his human. This guy will do anything for a pat from his best mate! He is calm, loyal and a good listener.
Ben is a trained working dog and has spent his time moving cattle on a dairy farm as a solo dog. Although showing skill, he is still developing confidence and finesse in this area. Ben does not have high drive and as a consequence, can be trusted off lead around cows, calves, and horses. He has shown that he can come off cattle when called and will not start work until directed to. Ben has been trained to bring a mob to his handler.
Ben is keen to get to know other dogs and plays well with them. He has shown manners when meeting new friends when out and about. Ben has started crate training, and sleeps through the night. He likes to stay close to the house and will happily chill nearby as you go about your day. He travels well, preferring to be a front seat passenger. When asked he will sit in the back of a ute or buggy patiently. He has not been tested on motorbikes. He is not suited to a home with free ranging chickens or other birds.
Ben settled quickly in foster care, and now loves nothing more than an adventure with his fur brothers and sisters. He is learning to walk well on a lead, is gentle around feeding time and does not tend to jump on people.
As he is a trained working dog, Ben would be best for someone with a working farm or a busy hobby farm. Ongoing training and daily work is necessary to bring out the best in this young man.

Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
