Solomon

Hi there, my name is Solomon. I am a gorgeous 18 month old Kelpie X.

I love to be included as part of the 'pack' or family as you humans call it. I go outside in the mornings and have a play with my outside toys, I am especially fond of the 'chuck it' ball my foster mum has gotten me and will chew and play with it to my hearts content. I sometimes am outdoors for longer periods of time when being indoors isn't practical. Being included as part of the family isn’t something I’ve been exposed to before so safe to say, I am rather enjoying it. I’m toilet trained, and like to spend the night indoors where I feel safe.

I'm an active boy, enjoying my morning and afternoon walks and I love playing with my toys anywhere possible. I especially like my soft toys, I like to ragdoll them and be a bouncy energetic teenager! My foster mum has been helping me learn to be on a lead, I walk with a harness with the ability to have two leash attachments for my own safety. I have never been trained to walk on a lead before so please keep in mind I am still learning how it’s done.

As I'm originally from regional NSW the sights, smells and sounds of the big city isn't something I am used to and my forever family will need to pay particular attention to how I react to things while on walks.

I'm quite afraid of being in the car, rocks are strange and scary but I do really enjoy going to the park and playing with the other dogs. I don’t enjoy getting barked at but with my foster mum by my side I am able to trot away from stressful situations like that. I would need any potential dog sibling to have the go go go attitude I have when it's play time but also know that when we're home it's lying and napping in the sun time.

I am great with kids of all ages however, I prefer older kids who are gentle and calm with me as I can get excitable and jump up on my humans. I would not suit a family with young children who may chase me around or could get bowled over by my exuberant personality.

I am a big sweetheart really and am not much of a working dog despite my breed. I'm very loyal and interested in my human, bonding quickly to them. I will be the best running partner you've ever had while also napping in the sun right next to you. I need as much love and patience as you can give me while I learn the ways of the big world we live in.
