About Buddy
Such a gentle soul!
This gorgeous boy is BUDDY, a mild-mannered and highly affectionate Irish Wolfhound x Border Collie born in January 2018.
Buddy is basically a "mini" Wolfhound. He's no bigger than a typical Border Collie, but his wiry hair, head and body shape, whiskers and beautiful amber eyes are very much Wolfhound.
A little timid until he gets to know you, Buddy settled in well to his new foster home and has won a firm place in the heart of his foster mum.
He's a very affectionate dog and enjoys human company. He loves a chat, but is not a barker. He's a gentle boy and doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body.
Buddy is very much an inside-outside dog. Although he's happy to spend most of his time in the home, he also likes to have access to a good-sized backyard. When weather permits, he takes himself off for a bit of "alone time", which may include a good sniff, some stretching and a snooze in the sun.
Completely house-trained, he hasn't had a single accident since entering care. He likes the convenience and freedom of a doggie door.
We suspect that Buddy had a limited upbringing, but being a very clever dog, he's learning his manners quickly. He's very eager to please and can sit on command. He doesn't pull on the lead and is in the process of learning that when out walking his place is at your side.
Initially fearful of the car, he's now decided it's not such a bad place to be. As long as the back window is open a bit, Buddy's a happy camper.
He sleeps well at night and is an adventurous eater. He's happy to tuck into sardines, tuna and raw food, as well as kibble and cooked food.
He gets on well with the resident dog and would make a delightful companion for an individual, couple or family.
Being a people-focused dog, Buddy will be more content in a home where someone is around most of the time. As always, secure fencing is a must.
He's not keen on poultry so we're regarding him as not cat-friendly either.
