About Diddy Kong
Diddy Kong (aka. Diddy):
The fogous Diddy Kong is a Staffy x Wolfhound puppy and based on his current size of 7.8 kilos we feel he will grow to a larger size med boy
Diddy is a sweet and clever puppy. Being a smaller dog of the litter, he has shown that he can be independent and resilient. He loves obstacle courses, especially sliding down ramps and then running under them, squeezing between the ramp and the ground. He's adventurous and overall a lovely sweet and adoptable boy
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM AND JUNK FOLDERS FOR YOUR APPLICATION ONCE YOU HAVE SENT YOUR ENQUIRY
Travelling in the car: Diddy gets a little nervous in the car but with some more trips to exciting places and more exposure, he will likely enjoy it a lot.
Food: Diddy Kong is very food motivated. He isnât a fussy eater and has been on puppy dry kibble. He does love freshly poached chicken though!
Outside: Diddy being a very young puppy will need to be kept warm outside over the winter and colder months
He does enjoy the Sunny days and exploring the outdoors
Visitors - People: Diddy has been tested in a crowded house with a lot of kids and also has been tested with older people, and very loud people. He was very well behaved on all occasions and was particularly good with the younger kids. He loves a snuggle with anyone willing to give him one and has not shown any social anxiety.
Enrichment: Diddy's favourite toy is a large stick. He also enjoys squeaky toys and food-based enrichment like Kongs
Independence: Diddy enjoys company but is comfortable playing without others and going to sleep without others. He doesnt show a huge amount of reliance on his humans and seems to enjoy independent time.
Walks - lead experience: Since Diddy came into rescue so young and had not had his proper vaccinations, he has not been tested on a lead yet. However, due to his age Diddy will be very easy to train. This is why puppy school and ongoing training will be very important for him.
Obedience: Diddy is a very clever pup, and is fairly obedient with the little instruction he knows. I feel that he will thrive when trained formally at puppy school for example.
Inside: Diddy is well behaved inside and likes to explore his environment. He likes to be in the company of whoever is home.
Dog socialisation, cat, small animals: Diddy has only been socialised with his brother Bowzer, as he has not been given the opportunity to socialise with any other dogs due to his vaccination not being complete during his time in foster.
Sleeping habits: At the moment, Diddy sleeps for 1-2 hour stretches through the day and wakes for 1-3 hours in between. He sleeps well in a dedicated space and is comfortable being locked in a crate when asleep. He sleeps for 6-7 hours through the night. It is encouraged that his crate training is continued with his new family.
Toilet training: We are working on Diddy's toilet training and he is getting a bit better as the days go on. Diddy is comfortable going outside for wees/poos and is getting better at initiating this himself. He has started going to the back door and being vocal which is a great sign that he is understanding the importance of letting his family know when he needs to go.
Ideal home:
Diddy is a sweet personality who would love another dog or a parent at home/working from home
Diddy would do well in a family setting.
A nice size yard with plenty of shade and shelter
If there is another dog in residence we seek a Female who is good with puppies to be his BFF
Children will be fine but we would be seeking dog experienced kinds children
- New family must understand that puppies that time to settle and all things puppies including crying, chewing and training is a must)
