About Turtle
Little Miss Lover!
Turtle is a friendly and affectionate puppy who loves socialising with people. Her little tail will wag at a million miles an hour when she is meeting new people – it’s super cute with her wiggly butt. Turtle is the biggest snuggler you will ever meet and may even grow up to be one of those over-grown lap dogs if you let her. Her personality is inquisitive and playful so she will bring a lot of love and fun times to her new family. She will grow into a large dog (around 30-35kg) and will be a great adventure partner. Turtle will love daily walks and playtime to keep her happy and healthy throughout her life.
While in foster care, Turtle has been living with another large friendly dog who she is very good friends with. They love to rumble together and have great games of tug of war. When playtime is over they also snuggle up together. Turtle will be looking for a home with another medium to large playful and friendly dog who she can hang out with. Turtle is a parvo survivor and had to spend time hospitalised and then in quarantine. While this was going on, she was not able to continue her socialisation and now sometimes displays some fear based when seeing or meeting other dogs out and about. Her new owners will need to continue the work of her foster carers to ensure that she has positive socialisation experiences in controlled environments to build up her confidence.
Turtle is a smart cookie and has made great progress with her basic training while in foster care. She is walking really nicely on the lead, can sit, wait, touch and take food gently. Turtle is food motivated and enjoys training activities so she will be able to continue to pick up tricks from her new owners. She sleeps in her own bed overnight without a stir and is progressing well with her toilet training. Turtle is able to travel for 20-30minutes in the car well if she can see out the window but does show some car sickness on longer trips. Her foster carers have been practicing trips in the car with her to get her more and more comfortable going on trips. Turtle is currently on Hills i/d Digestive Care food which has been supporting her recovery from parvovirus and she thoroughly enjoys her dinner time.
We are looking for a family with previous medium/large breed dog experience who will include Turtle in their lives. She will do best in a home with another suitable dog and where someone is home more often than not at least until she has settled in. Her foster carers have been working on her independence after her turbulent start and she is now able to stay home alone with her doggy friend for a few hours. We expect she will continue to build her independence and confidence once she settles into her new home. Turtle has been very friendly with kids that she has met out and about so may enjoy a home with dog savvy children. She will need to be allowed inside to be with the family and have a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
