Meet Max E Mumm, a divinely smoochy boy part of the Shirley U Care pups who is determined to win the hearts of all the humans he meets. He currently lives with his 9yo foster dog brother, 2 cats and his humans. This wee boy is an absolute snuggle bug and loves nothing more than sneaking in for an unexpected kiss and snooze next to the nearest warm body – cat, dog or human, Max E Mumm isn’t fussy, so long as he gets some love. As an added bonus, Max E Mumm is not a nippy pup, preferring to lick (and lick and lick), his favourite target is an unsuspecting ear, so he would be well suited to a family with dog savvy, well supervised children. Dog confident cats would be a great addition to Max E Mumm’s desired family. He does love to chase his resident cats if they run up the hallway but usually just tries to kiss them if he can corner them.
Max E Mumm is a very smart boy. He is learning to sit for his food (which he is obsessed with) and bring toys back to his humans when they are thrown. He knows that he isn’t allowed to eat food from other animal’s bowls and is improving all the time at resisting the temptation to sneak just a quick taste test.
Max E Mumm adores company, and therefore will not do well as an only dog who is left at home frequently. He must live with a puppy friendly companion dog who will tolerate his playful nature and help Max E Mumm learn how to be a dog. The only exception to this may be a family that is home most of the time, and that is also willing to commit to socialising Max E Mumm daily to fulfil his social needs. We do not want him to become a sad puppy without dog stimulation. Max E Mumm, like all young pups, will need formal dog obedience training to allow him to grow into a well socialised, well-rounded dog.
Max E Mumm is crate trained and sleeps through the night, often asking to go out for a 6am wee and poo before snoozing again until breakfast. He loves to chew hard toys, preferring them to soft ones, and has been know to “assist” with the gardening if he becomes bored outside. If you need some holes dug for new plants, just point Max E Mumm to the correct spot and the hard work will be done for you.
He is polite to other dogs, cautious about scary trains and big noisy trucks, and desperate to love any humans he meets.
