About Sleet
Meet the cheeky and loving Sleet.
Sleet is a Bulldog x Heeler with a sweet personality and a heart of gold
He arrived into foster care at only 7 weeks old, underweight and needing some love! He has slowly been putting on weight and growing into his long legs. He currently weighs around 5.5 kilos, so is likely to grow into a medium sized dog. Sleet has been in a home with his foster mum and resident dog (1.5 year old cavoodle) since the beginning of June. He is a very sweet and loveable dog. He loves people and other dogs, and loves to nap on the couch with us in the evenings. He has slotted in beautifully at his foster home and we are seeking a forever home where he will become part of the family and be loved unconditionally.

TRAVELLING IN THE CAR
Sleet is calm and relaxed in the car. He is happy to curl up and have a nap while weâre on the move. He has spent up to 30 minutes in the car with no issues.
FOOD
Sleet eats three times a day and has been on a diet of premium puppy food and chicken and rice. He eats like a champ and was eating so fast heâd give himself the hiccups. He now eats out of a slow feeder bowl so he can pace himself.
OUTSIDE
Sleet enjoys exploring the outdoors. He loves to run around and sniff the plants and play with his foster mum and resident dog. He has mainly lived inside at his foster home so it may take some time for him to adjust to being left outside for longer periods of time. He will need a decent size yard with grass and shelter to run around in as he grows up.
VISITORS AND PEOPLE
Sleet loves to be around people. He gets very excited by visitors and canât wait for pats and cuddles. He has been exposed to men, women, children, the elderly and loves them all! Sleet loves to be where his humans are and will happily nap nearby or on you if possible.
ENRICHMENT
Sleet loves to play with toys. His favourites are squeaky chew toys. He shares them back and forth with resident dog and loves to create a game out of it. He needs to have plenty of strong chew toys as he has very sharp little teeth.
INDEPENDENCE
Sleet is used to having the company of his foster sister. They have been left all day (a couple of times a week) and are happy to play with each other, and cuddle up together or in separate beds and nap. Sleet is rarely destructive and only cries towards the end of the day when he is ready for foster mum to come home. He has been left a few times completely on his own for an hour and will play, nap, and sometimes cry for only a short while and will self soothe. Keep in mind he is only young and is still growing up, and will eventually get used to the routine you create for him.
WALKS AND OBEDIENCE
Sleet has only had 2 puppy vaccines so hasnât ventured far from home. He wears a collar, and has just started walking on a leash in the driveway. He is starting to learn âsitâ and ânoâ. He would benefit from puppy obedience classes and will need an owner who has time to dedicate to training so he can grow into a well-behaved boy.
INSIDE
Sleet spends most of his time inside, as it has been a bit cold outside for such a small pup. He loves to cuddle up with his foster mum and fur sister on the couch. He can be a bit cheeky with his chewing so you canât leave shoes, cords, or anything you donât want chewed in his reach.
SOCIALISATION
Sleet is a very social dog. He bonded with the resident dog immediately and they have become best friends. They play and wrestle and chase each other around. He has met a few other small dogs and has been more than happy to play with them too. He hasnât been exposed to cats or any other animals.
SLEEPING
Sleet sleeps in his own bed on the floor of his foster mums room. He is settled there and wonât get up to wander around the house. Sometimes he will stir halfway though the night, and foster mum will get up to take him out for a wee, or he will take himself out.
TOILET TRAINING
Sleetâs toilet training is something that will need a little bit more work. It has improved significantly since being in foster care. He rarely has accidents inside any more. He has access to a doggy door which he taught himself to use on his first night in care and will often use to take himself outside. His foster mum will still take him outside regularly throughout the day to remind him to go pee/poo outside.
IDEAL HOME
a home with another medium female dog who is playful yet gentle enough while he is still a puppy
a decent sized backyard with grass and shelter so he has plenty of room to run around
an owner that is willing to take him on daily walks
a home with children would be fine but they must be nature and dog savvy
a home where he will not be left alone too much while he is still a puppy
and most of all a family who will give him the love deserves
