About Dodge
URGENT FOSTER CARER NEEDED OR AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Dodge | 3yrs | Male | Siberian Husky
Located Melb
Dodge is a very handsome and photogenic boy with stunning amber eyes that watch you intently. He’s very affectionate and loves to give you kisses on your cheek and snuggle his head into you, particularly in the mornings. He loves to lay on the bed and couch chewing on a ball, kong or rope and playing fetch and tug of war. He’ll happily stand on the couch for ages looking out at the birds and watching the world go by.
If you sit down on the floor with him he will come up for a big cuddle. He also loves to be brushed and will happily lay down with his legs in the air so you can get his tummy!
He’s fine doing his own thing, is ok being left alone and can be quite independent. He can be entertained for ages chasing the skinks in the garden and has been seen chasing his own fluffy tail! He’s also happy chilling out in the back garden and sunning himself on the deck or up on the outdoor table! He’s happily entertained with a kong or lickimat and will often bury the kong including treats in the garden to go back to later.
Dodge loves to run and play and everything is a game. Zoomies around the backyard are a regular occurrence.
He loves toys, kong included. And he LOVES any type of balls!! He can have a husky tantrum when he's annoyed at his kong when the treats don’t drop out after he throws it around. Don't leave your shoes down because these seem to be his favourite toy!
He has a lot of energy and is very playful. He can be a big goof ball and has these long legs that can slip and slide on the timber floors when he’s super excited.
Dodge is continuously learning: he knows sit, wait, drop and come and he listens well to his name when called. He is learning ‘to give’ when trying to take things off him that he really wants.
He loves his food, and is very food motivated. He can be possessive over food at times if around other dogs . He knows to sit and wait for meals until he’s told to eat. He takes food and treats very gently from your hand.
He’s working on his lead and road manners as he can pull like a typical husky who loves to get out and explore the world.
He can react to other dogs, but is ok with loud noises and passing humans. He has shown he can adapt with other dogs but hates small dogs.
He is strong willed and has an enthusiasm for life so typical of a husky with selective hearing when distracted.
He’s not talkative but will bark when you get home demanding you come out and greet him. He enjoys howling along to the emergency services sirens when they go by!
He loves to be inside with you but prefers to sleep outside at night snuggling in his kennel.
He is excited to go new places and just wants to be where you are. He has a lot of love to give.
Dodge is fine being an only dog but may suit being with a submissive similar sized female.
