Shirley U Care - this young mumma came into care with 5 of her pups. She has been a fantastic mum to her pups, but now it’s time for her to find her own home and to be showered with love.
Shirley U Care is the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet! Calm and loyal, she will stay by your side all day. Shirley U Care makes the perfect office dog! She happily sits or lies down near your desk and only gets up to join you for lunch or coffee breaks! The vet estimates her age at 18 months, so finding such a calm dog at a young age is amazing.
Shirley U Care loves her food, cuddles on the couch and belly rubs. She has just begun to show some interest in playing with other dogs, however she’d be happy as an only dog or alternatively, live with another calm dog.
Shirley U Care has good recall, can use the dog door, walks calmly on lead and can sit when offered food. It is suspected that Shirley U Care was an outdoor dog before coming into care. She is now toilet trained however, since this is a new skill, she will need to be guided where to toilet in her new home.
Transitioning to a new home may cause Shirley U Care to become anxious and cause separation anxiety. It is recommended that her new home will have people present almost always for at least 2 weeks as she adjusts to her new environment. To date, Shirley U Care is happy to be left on her own for up to 4 hours. Although she is friendly towards children, she prefers the predictability of older people. She can get spooked easily especially around loud noises. A calm and quiet home will be ideal!
Testing with a cat has been tricky as the resident cat refuses to meet her. Homes with confident cats would need to ensure their meeting would be in a controlled environment
Shirley U Care is one in a million. Gentle, cuddly, smart and loyal… she’d make a great addition to any family…. or office!
