About Yoshi
Yoshi is a very active puppy with typical energy to burn! He is a lovely boy, loves to play, loves attention and is not afraid of anything at this point! He is cheeky and funny with a touch of attitude. He has just found his growl when playing tug-o-war and those little pin teeth! Which he likes to use a lot! This little boy will make you laugh everyday!
Yoshi is a Staffy x Wolfhound so we feel based on his breed he will be a larger size med at full growth
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM AND JUNK FOLDERS FOR YOUR APPLICATION ONCE YOU HAVE SENT YOUR ENQUIRY
OBEDIENCE
Yoshi will come running when you call “here puppy, puppy, puppy” or “Yoshi”. As being a young puppy his new family will need to invest time into his training and we absolutely recommend puppy scholl for him at this age to ensure he can develop to be bestest self
DOG SOCIALIZATION
Yoshi is currently living with another dog and has been well socialized within his time in rescue with multiple dogs
WALKS – LEAD EXPERIENCE
Since puppy has just had his shots, he has not had much lead experience other than when he had a photo shoot. He will be ready to learn on the lead by the time he goes off to his forever home.
ENRICHMENT
Yoshi absolutely loves to play and run which he needs a lot of to burn his energy. He is ACTIVE! He wants to run and chase and loves human play and play with his toys. He will also entertain himself with his toys including soft squeaky teddies (preferably without bits than can be chewed off such as plastic eyes etc), balls, puppy chew toys and the like. He tends to become bored with them and heads for your feet, shoes and socks! So, the more chew toys the better! He loves company and I feel another dog that is VERY TOLERANT of a puppy jumping at them and in their face (non-long haired dog) will be suitable or a family with no pets that has a lot of time to put into him. A family who is active and can include him in everyday runs, walks, ball games in the back yard and down the park will be ideal. A large backyard/property will also be ideal and Yoshi is going to be a big cuddly boy!
VISITORS
Yoshi Boy LOVES visitors! Visitors means attention and cuddles and more people to play with and make it all about him! Again, small children are not recommended as his biting and scratching with his sharp nails and teeth can hurt. Yoshi is a huge fan of people
INSIDE
Yoshi has spent a lot of time inside and outside playing with his foster brother (Red Heeler) whom he adores. He likes to get up at around 7am and apart from a couple of day time naps, he likes to play up until around 9pm-10pm. He has not been destructive, even when left for a few hours or half a day. He has occasionally, however, shown signs of wanting to chew the corner of the outdoor couch, however, nothing of concern. I suggest everything be put away up high during his puppy months.
OUTSIDE
Yoshi likes being outside playing with his foster brother. PLEASE KEEP PLANTS and any nasties out of his way as he is a normal and curious pup who likes to explore! He has not been left outside on his own and has not slept outside due to him coming into our care during the bitterly cold winter. He has toileted on a poopy mat a couple of times; and when let outside he will do his business. He is not completely house trained just yet.
SLEEPING HABITS
Yoshi was a bit fussy in his first few nights resulting in him only settling when sleeping with his foster mummy and foster brother on her bed. We believe he would settle quite well if beside a fur brother or sister or human. He sleeps from approximately 9-10pm at night to 7am in the morning. He has little naps during the day after play.
TRAVELLING IN THE CAR
Yoshi has travelled in the car a few times to the vet. He has travelled in his warm and secure puppy carry crate which he is not real happy about, however will sit or lay down in there on the trip with a blanket and often go to sleep.
FOOD
Yoshi has enjoyed Chicken Savour Life dry puppy food which has been softened with warm water to make easy chewing. He is gradually starting to chew the dry food on its own. He has a good handful four times a day which is gradually increasing. He loves his food. He may not eat it the minute you put it down, however he will eat.
IDEAL HOME
Please take good note of this section. Yoshi is going to be quite a large dog and will be active. Ideally his family will need to take him on a couple of good 45 minute walks per day or a walk and ball game. He will also require a large and secure yard. He will require proper puppy training and continued training following that. If you cannot commit to this then Yoshi is not for you. You must be able to handle a large dog on walks. Another dog would be great to help keep Yoshi active too. However, the dog must be tolerant of a nips and scratches and jumping about during puppy months.
ADOPTION CRITERIA
An active family/couple/owner who understands that Yoshi will not be a puppy for long and will require lots of exercise, inclusion in your daily routines and holidays/camping etc and proper training from day dot! He needs a good diet and lots of love and cuddles and he will be your best friend! A family or couple with a large and secure yard with grass and a shady area. He is relying on you to help him with training so that you both can enjoy a happily ever after! He is relying on you to provide a safe and loving home for the next 15 years or more of his life. He is relying on your commitment, patience and unconditional love. If you have this, Yoshi is going to be one amazing family member!
