About Nalah
Sweet, petite and unique... meet Nalah!
This 12 month old gorgeous and gentle little Kelpie x girl had a challenging start to life but has begun building back her confidence while in foster care. It is important to know that she will require lots of patience and encouragement in her new home, and that she may never be an overly confident dog.
Nalah is not a typical high energy working dog breed. She is a low energy dog who simply requires a large, secure backyard to be able to do a few zoomies with a resident dog pal or two. She prefers very low key, relaxed companions and is not suited to living with dogs who are overly boisterous or wanting to wrestle. She would do well with a middle aged or older, slower dog or two. She has also been extremely gentle and polite towards the resident cat in foster care and often found curled up sleeping beside him or licking his face!
She would make a perfect 'working from home' companion, as snoozing by your feet as you work is one of her favorite pastimes! She would also be a lovely companion for a semi-retired or retired person/couple who are home more often than not.
Nalah is not suited to a busy active household or lifestyle, a share-house, or a home with children. (Visiting children would be fine if she could have a quiet place to retreat to). She thrives in a routine and a calm, relaxed environment. Although she has spent a lot of time in foster care going on walks in suburbia, this is still a very overwhelming experience for her and therefore she is not suited to life in the city or built up suburbs. She will do well in very outer suburbs on a large block or semi-rural/rural locations.
Once you have her trust, Nalah is your constant shadow and couch cuddle buddy! She gets the full body wiggles, bows down and prances about when you speak to her in a high excited voice. Although she has uttered an occasional small excited whine, her foster mum is still yet to hear her bark!
Nalah sleeps in a crate overnight, and often pops herself in there for some chill out time during the day as well. A crate is a secure place for her when she is feeling a bit overwhelmed and it would be very important that this is also available to her in her new home. She is polite with food and, although a little nervous, still walks beautifully on the lead in a 'heel' position.
If your home and lifestyle matches Nalah's needs, and you can offer her a place to feel safe with patience and kindness, please apply today!
**Nalah is located in VIC....
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
