About Luna
Luna came in to the shelter as a stray and unfortunately has struggled with shelter life since arrival. She will likely need time to settle in to her new home for her to realise that she is no longer in the shelter. Allowing her this time before taking her out for walks is recommended. Giving her a space of her own, eg crate, mat bed, where she can 'switch off' and have some quiet time with a long lasting chew/enrichment could also help her settle. Luna is quite a smart girl who knows her 'sit' but is struggling to focus with the hustle/bustle of the shelter environment. She is a young dog looking for an owner who is dedicated to continuing her training, both basic manners and around her reactivity towards other dogs. Walking her in quiet low traffic areas is recommended, working on her focus on her handler. Although Luna is reactive towards other dogs, she is quite social and wiggly once she meets them and may benefit from being walked with known social dogs. She is NOT to be taken to off-leash areas, dog parks, beaches etc. She may be suited to living with a calm, social non-reactive male doggy friend. They will need to meet at time of adoption.
