The gorgeous Naya is now seeking her forever home
This gentle gorgeous little cattle dog is just over 12 months of age and weighs in at 22 kilos
Naya is a beautiful and loving girl that loves her people, she has become our 7 year olds shadow and is always near him. When Naya first came to us, she was very scared and unsure about most things around her except for the children, she established her place between the 10- and 7-year-old and would follow them around, as they were her safe place. She sleeps with them, watches them play their video games, they read to her every night before bed, which she loves as she gets lots of cuddles. She has always been gentle and loving with her humans.
Food
Naya currently fed twice a day on premium dry and wet food combination. Naya shows no signs of food aggression.
Travelling in the Car
Naya is doing much better in the car; she will jump into the back seat with a little bit of encouragement and a little treat also helps. Once in the car she may be a little unsure at the start of the trip but will settle. If the children are with her, she will happily jump in with no assistance required.
Visitors
Naya is happy to see visitors especially if they are children.
Children/Teenagers
Naya is currently living with a 13, 10 and 7 year old child. Naya established a bond with the children extremely quickly and will lay and watch them play or follow them around. Naya in particular has formed a beautiful bond with our 7 year old.
Enrichment
Naya is not into chasing balls, but she does enjoy playing with soft toys. During the day she spends it outside with our resident dog,
Walks Lead-experience
Naya was very unsure about going for walks and would hide when she first saw the lead, but with the help of the children and our resident dog she has learnt that walks are fun and always full of adventures and now walks over to the front door when she sees her lead. She stays close to you when walking and is doing really well-off lead too. When we see other dogs on our walks, she will come closer to you needed some reassurance.
Obedience
Naya knows a few commands, sit and come and we are working on stay. She will happily wait for her food,
Inside
Naya loves being inside and is not destructive inside at all. She prefers to be by the children's side and just hang out with them.
Dog socialisation, cats and small animals.
When Naya first arrived she wasn't too sure about our resident dog, nut never showed any aggressive behavior but instead chose to ignore him, they have now formed a much better relationship.
She is great around cats and we have found her curled up to the older cat on a few occasions.
Sleeping
Sine Naya has arrived she has been sleeping on my 7 year olds bed and happily sleeps through the night.
Toilet Training
Naya is toilet trained and uses a doggy dog which she has access to throughout the day and night.
Adoption criteria
We seek a home with a medium to large yard which has shade, grass and shelter. A home with
children 5 years and over that will love Naya as much as she will love them (and read her a bedtime
story). A home with or without another dog, cats are fine as she doesn’t mind them at all. But most
of all we want a home for Naya that will love her unconditionally and give her all the affection that
she deserves, she is a gentle and loving girl who deserves all the love in the world.
