About Stella
Please let us take this moment to introduce you to Stella our beautiful 2 year old Neapolitan Mastiff
Stella is a stunning Chocolate Neapolitan mastiff who has come into care thru no fault of her own, Stella is hoping that her forever family is reading this.
Stella is on the lookout for a forever family or human that knows just how amazing big breeds can be but also know the importance of keeping up the training and consistency in behavior as Stella is still only young (2 years old) while yes she is a large breed she can still be cheeky from time to time.
Stella has definitely had some previous training and that is shown in her ability to follow commands – sit, drop and come but she will from time to time show her puppy brain and forget things or get distracted by the breeze.
Stella loves humans and will happily show you her toys after a boisterous greeting.
Stella is great on a halti when going for a walk which she definitely enjoys however she can be reactive to other dogs when she sees them. This would be something that would need to be an on going training exercise with her.
Stella does not jump up on her humans, however has mastered the skill of being able to jump in the backseat or back of a SUV and loves a good car trip – especially if the window is down and she can have the wind on her face (just watch out for the shoe string drool that is created!)
Since Stella has been in care she has shown some fear with other dogs – her carer has been working with her to overcome this – once she is comfortable with another dog she is fine – however due to her size when excited, play can be rough and clumsy.
While Stella has previously spent time at doggy day care and being introduced to other dogs in controlled environments – we will be asking for either an only dog home for her or with another dog that is calm, patience and easy going.
Stella can be reactive to other dogs thru the fence
Stella is not tested with cats
Stella loooooves children, but she is a big breed dog and will try and climb into their lap to give them cuddles. She will also from time to time when playing accidentally knock a smaller child over, she will always apologies with kisses and puppy dog looks.
Stella is currently enjoying hanging out with her foster family and yes that means sleeping inside in the house on her dog bed at night – something she would definitely love to continue.
Stella would very much like to be an active member of her new family’s lives - hanging out inside with her family, or being outside for family time.
Stella does suffer from separation anxiety and therefore we are asking for a home where the family / person would be willing to work with her on this as well as be someone who works from home, does not need to work etc.
Stella like a lot of Neapolitan mastiff’s is very sensitive to her surroundings and will need a few days to settle in with her new family and establish her routine (which she very much likes)
Stella has a lot of love to give, and any family would be lucky to have her as part of their lives.

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email.
