Sweet Janey came into care a few months ago with her three babies. She was part of a family of cats who continued to breed and it soon became too much for her owners. Janey's babies have gone off to another local rescue group for rehoming, and now she is looking for her very own forever family.
Janey LOVES attention! She's a real people cat and loves getting attention and cuddles from her humans. Actually her humans, the visitors that come by, the postman, she actually doesn't mind who the attention comes from. Janey is a real lap cat who would love a home where her owners are looking for a kitty to curl up on the couch or bed and give them lots of purrs. She has met a few cats since being in care and has taken a liking to younger adults and older kittens the most. She met an older gentleman and they didn't hit it off (feeling was mutual from both kitties). She would be better suited to a home with another young and active cat, but would also be more than happy to live on her own. Janey hasn't met many dogs since being in our care but has been pretty comfortable around the respectful ones she has met. She would also suit a home with slightly older children who could play with her and give her cuddles.
Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a meet and greet with little Janey. 🐾
Adoption details
If you would like to know more information about any of our rescue animals, our rescue group, or to arrange a meet and greet, please email us. Please provide us with your name, email address, contact number, and some information about yourself, and the home you have to offer one of our rescue animals.
About us:
Gary and the Handicats Rescue is run soley by a Vet Nurse who works shift work and also cares for sick and high needs rescue animals. We strive to get back to you within 24 hours, but during busy kitten seasons there may be a delay. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Please note we do not run on a "first in first served" basis. We screen applicants well before proceeding with adoption. Vet and rental references may be required for certain special needs adoptions.
We receive a large amount of interest in our handraised kittens, and certain special needs animals. Please understand that if you're application isn't successful, this may just be due to the amount of applications we have had for that particular animal, and not because of the home you have to offer. Preference is always given to our past adopters.
Meet and Greets:
• Meet and greets are held in an environment where the particular cat or kitten feels most comfortable.
• Please do not bring your own animals to a meet and greet.
• We do not allow any of our animals to be taken home on the day of the meet and greet. Special circumstances may be considered.
Picking up you're new family member:
• You MUST bring a safe, secure, and size appropriate carrier for your baby to travel home in. We do not have carriers to provide new adopters, and we will not send home one of our rescue animals in a cardboard box or a washing basket. If a carrier isn't able to be provided, your adoption will be cancelled.
