About Biggie
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! I'm Biggie! But I also go by Mr. Big and the Big Man! I'm a boxer x mastiff puppy looking for my furever home!
Unfortunately, Helping Hearts Animal Rescue do not a whole lot about my background. What they do know is that I was found wandering around a town in the Mid North Coast. I wasn't microchipped and no one ever came to collect me :( After about a month of being there, my foster mumma came and picked me up! When we got home, she realised I had a few behavioural issues, namely that I wasn't too keen on strangers (particularly men), that I had a bit of separation anxiety from her and that I sometimes cowered when people moved their arms too quickly near me or tried to pick me up unexpectedly. With lots of love, support, training and patience from my foster mumma and dad, I'm getting a lot better, but it might take my new family a bit to earn my trust completely.
Now that you know my background, let me tell you a bit more about my personality! I currently live with two other younger foster puppies and two adult resident dog. In case you hadn't already guessed, I'm super duper dog friendly! I also live with an adult resident kitty who I like to talk to and hang out with, but she doesn't quite reciprocate my feelings. I've only met a couple of kids, who I was pretty good with, but due to my energy level I'd prefer if my furever home had dog savvy kids or kids over 10 years old.
My favourite thing in the world is hanging out with my foster parents! I love cuddling with them, getting pats from them and following them around the house! I sleep on the floor in my doggie bed at night but my dream is to snuggle on the bed with my people! Don't let that fool you though, I love rumbling and running with my doggo friends! I also loveee toys!! Squeaky toys! Ball toys! Rope toys! All toys! I'll happily run around with any of them! My final favourite thing is FOOD! I love food so much! I'll show you all the tricks I know if it means I can get a treato!
My foster mumma is currently teaching me a few tricks which I'm definitely getting better at but I'd love to keep learning. So far I've mastered sit, touch, look, and shake and I'm working on lie down. I'm also working on my toilet training skills and I'd say I'm about 90% there. I'm amazing in the car and will let you know if I need to poop or pee. Additionally, I'm the best walker on lead and barely pull at all!
I think my dream home would have:
- someone that understands that Boxers aren't fully mature until 2 years old so I'll still be a baby for a while
- someone that is committed to building my trust and working on my separation anxiety
- a house with a yard. I have ALOT of energy and wouldn't be suited to an apartment
- someone that's home more often than not OR a doggo friend to help reduce my anxiety
- If my family has kids, kids over 10 years old or dog savvy ones
If you think I'm the man for you, send my foster parents an enquiry!
Love and licks, Biggie🐶🐶
