About Skye
Skye is a beautiful nearly 2 year old Catahoula. Nothing is more important to Skye then her people, she wants nothing more than to spend her every waking moment right by your side. Skye has bounced around between homes alot already for such a young dog, due to this she craves love and stability and has developed some seperation anxiety traights. She manages outside with another dogs company when her people aren't home, but if she can see her people inside through a window etc she will fret to be with them. Ideally Skye needs a home where more often than not somebody will be home with her.
Skye is a Double Merle (please research) and is 100% deaf because of this. Her training is a bit different because of this but she is an incredibly smart girl who is responding amazingly well to hand signals when rewarded with treats. It's important to note that Skye's deafness does not hold her back in the slightest, she was born this way so she knows no different. She is just like any other young dog, absolute full of love and energy.
Ideally Skye would be homed with another young dog thats either a similar size (23kgs) or bigger than her. Skye cannot live with cats / birds, being a Catahoula, her prey drive is very strong. She absolutely loves kids though. She has been living with a 4yo and 5yo for the past couple months and is amazing with them, she loves all the cuddles and attention. We have managed to train Skye to sleep in a crate in our room (so she can see us) at night time but if she had it her way she would sleep on the bed with you.
To summerize, Skye is looking for a special family that is willing to help her and commit to her for the long term, in return she will give you endless love and loyalty. Skye's next home has to be her forever home. If you think Skye might he suitable for you please apply and we can discuss her in greater detail.
If you think you can offer Skye what she needs and deserves then please put in an application and the successful applicant will get the chance to meet her.
Medical notes
Skye is deaf. You will need to know how to train a dog like this before being accepted.
