About Dolly
Dolly is quite simply the best girl. She adores all people - men, women, young and old, strangers and friends. She is just the perfect companion animal.
Dolly is house trained and must be an indoor dog, included as an integral part of the family. She becomes very distressed when separated from her loved ones.
Dolly has severe seperation anxiety and screams when left alone, so she will need a human home with her most of the time.
She is mostly deaf but can hear some loud clapping. She is not a reactive barker and only cries when she is separated from her loved ones or needs something.
Dolly must go to a home with no other dogs or cats as she has a history of aggression towards other 4-legged animals in the home, though she is unfazed by poultry. She’s lived a hard life before being rescued and we suspect her reaction to other animals stems from this. She came from a rural property where she was bred, neglected and ignored, time and time again.
Dolly has been desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm treated while in our care. She has had full bloods run, which were thankfully all unremarkable. Dolly has a number of mammary tumours which are non-operable as the surgery would be too extensive to put her though.
Dolly loves all food, though given her age, her appetite is sometimes off on some days. She eats Black Hawk kibble, loves tuna and basically any human food she can sneak :)
Parting with Dolly will be incredibly difficult for us here at the sanctuary, she has become a beloved member of our family since she came to us in November ‘21. Being a home to 15 other permanent resident animals and countless more with the rescue, we know that our family is not ideal for her, despite how much we wish it were.
Dolly comes with a lifetime guarantee to accept her back at the rescue for a full refund of her adoption fee, should you ever be in a position where you can no longer care for her.
Can you be the best pal and parent Dolly has deserved all her life?
Medical notes
Dolly is fighting fit for her approximate age!
She is mostly deaf and has a number of non operable mammary tumours. Her blood work is all non-remarkable :)
