Hi! My name is Inky and I’m looking for my forever home.
My favourite thing is cuddles - anytime and anywhere. I like to always be next to my humans. If I see them sitting down, and their hand hanging by their side, I like to position myself so that their hand is now resting on my head! I also don’t understand why humans need two hands to type - use one to type and one to pat me!
I started out sleeping in a crate until I realised where the humans slept. Now I bolt for their bed as soon as I hear them brushing their teeth. My foster mum says I look so content that she can’t move me. So now I sleep with my head on her pillow. Sometimes, in the night, I like to wake up and give her a lick to make sure she is still there. But I am very good in my crate, and I am good at sleeping in it.
My foster mum leaves me for a few hours each day while she goes to work. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I just sleep in my crate.
I have a foster brother and sister. I like the company, but humans are really my jam.
My foster mum says I need to learn to not climb over my doggy brother and sister to get to my humans. Or to barge them out of the way when it is their turn for a cuddle. So I will need to be with another dog that is patient.
I’ve never shown any signs of aggression. I’m slowly learning to play with toys. My foster mum says it’s her favourite thing when she sees me take a fluffy toy and throw it around. Although, sometimes I confuse toys with human shoes. Whoops!
I don’t pull on the lead, but I do like to zig zag. I want to smell everything! But I’m learning. My humans take me for a walk twice a day. They say I have a lot of energy! I hope my new humans also like walks.
I know the word sit. And I will sit for my dinner and at the roads (sometimes!). I do love food!
I can be a bit nervous and skittish. Loud noises frighten me. And I can struggle to relax. But I’m starting to learn it’s okay to lie on my back in the sun and close my eyes. And I think in time, I’ll get used to the good life!
I love car trips and adventures. But most of all I love my humans.
I have heart worm but I won’t have it forever. My foster mum was scared about what it would mean. But it doesn’t stop me doing much. I still get to go on all the adventures - just no long runs for me (yet!). I gobble up my tablet each month. It’s more food!
My foster mum says saying goodbye to me is going to be really tough but that I’m going to make the perfect addition to my new family.
Will that be with you?
Medical notes
Inky is currently on a slow-kill heartworm eradication program that involves fortnightly medication. All medication and medical costs related to his heartworm eradication are covered by Precious Paws.
