About Kate
Hi My Name Is Kate and I am one Happy girl!
I am based in Horsham Rural Victoria. Please read all my information and sent Phoenix an email if you want to know more about me.
Check out my photos......I am stunning aren't I
Kate is a beautiful 2 year old Labrador. Kate loves playing and chasing a ball. She is happiest when she can chase her ball, warm up and then go for a swim. And then fetch her ball again!
Kate is a sweetie and would be ecstatic if she can love and keep a watchful eye on her human 24/7. She loves getting cuddles and she has unlimited love to give.
Kate is crate trained and house trained. She is also content to sit in her kennel in her dog run.
Kate likes to play very boisterous and fast games with other dogs. She is still a big puppy and just a bit rough with smaller dogs. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body but due to her size, watch out if anyone gets in her way when she is fetching her ball.
Kate will woof loudly when visitors arrive. She can be a little wary of new friends until she feels comfortable around them (usually this only takes a few minutes). She rarely barks at other times.
Kate has not been around children so we are looking for a home without toddlers and young children. Kate would be ok to be in a home with adolescents - 13 years and above.
Kate has been fostered on a farm and she loves the space and freedom. She has got used to sheep and kangaroos, but is never left unsupervised. She grew up with 2 cats, but some cats would find her too energetic.
Kate has had some basic training, and she is very motivated by training with treats. She needs ongoing training and will try her best to please you. Being a high energy Labrador, Kate will chew up things she shouldn’t (like socks, and anything made of black plastic) if she is not being sufficiently stimulated or exercised.
Kate is looking for her perfect forever home:
- Rural, coastal or farm with some space and somewhere to swim
- Attentive and loving owner who is at home a lot of the time, and who will enjoy Kate wanting to be close by
- Another dog of her age and energy level to play with (or regular visits to the beach or dog park to meet other dogs)
Kate is vaccinated, flea and worm treated, desexed and microchipped.
Medical notes
Kate has had a bit of a complicated medical history, but she is fit and well now.
Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right for certain animals if we feel it is in their best interest.
