About Guava
Guava’s foster carer describes her just the best dog! There are so many wonderful things we can say about her. Guava is such a sweet girl and is very affectionate. She loves to snuggle on the couch with you in the evenings, resting her head lovingly against you. Guava is great with everyone that she meets and has good manners.
Guava is a really happy and joyful dog who loves to play. She is athletically built and active, but not super high energy. Some daily playtime and a nice walk each day will keep her satisfied. Guava is a dog who could keep up with whatever adventures you would like to have but is equally happy to just spend time with you and snuggle. She is a great size, currently 24kg, and has a beautiful brindle coat.
In her foster home, she is currently regularly visiting the off-lead dog beach. She loves to stretch her legs and play with the other dogs. Guava is dog social and has been good with all the other dogs she has met. She will happily live with another friendly and playful dog or two. Otherwise, she is fine as an only dog if she gets regular playtime with her doggy friends and had someone home more often than not to give her the attention she deserves. Guava can also live harmoniously with poultry.
Guava has excellent obedience. She has been in care with us for a year now (Why you ask? Who knows?! She just seems to be that unlucky dog we have at the moment) and has spent time in board and train between carers. Guava has excellent recall, even around distractions, and follows instructions well (check out her videos). She does really well with clear instructions and boundaries. Guava is extremely trainable and loves to work for you. She knows sit, stay, come, wait and has a lovely loose lead walk. She is also crate trained and knows to chill out in her crate whenever left there.
We are looking for a home where Guava will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities. She will need a home with another playful dog and/or where someone is home more often than not. Her new owners will need to be happy to use a crate and she would benefit from place training in the home so that she continues to get clear guidance from her people. Guava is best suited to an adult home or one where children are older teenagers. She would also be fine with younger children who are more dog savvy and confident with playful dogs. This girl will need a yard as she loves to stretch her legs and lie in the sun. Guava will need to be allowed inside as part of the family and provided a warm and comfy bed inside to sleep in of a night.
Guava is going to make an amazing addition to a family who is looking for a playful and friendly dog who they can spend many hours cuddling. If you feel you’re missing a bit of puppy love and Guava sounds like the perfect fit, fill out a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the next step in the process. Please include lots of detail about your current household members and the type of lifestyle you can offer Guava.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
