From a life of neglect, young Marigold settled into foster care surprisingly fast. That could be due to the fact that she is now being fed decent food and is finally off the streets and out of the miserable wet and cold.

Marigold is a now thoroughly enjoying a warm bed and receiving the love she has sadly been denied all her life.

Marigold was a cat who had to live on scraps of food thrown in the backyard by people who cared nothing for her. She was undesexed and underfed, so she had litter after litter who she did her very best to bring up as best she could.

Since we rescued Marigold, she has adapted to indoor life surprisingly well. This clever girl has taken to using the litter immediately – even though she had never seen litter before!

Marigold is also starting to play with toys, something she has also never had. It is pure magic to see her show her playful side now that she can relax and not have to worry about where her next meal is coming from.

This beautiful girl has the most gorgeous pale green eyes, which look at you with so much love. She also has stunning soft champagne ginger fur. Marigold loves to be brushed, and when you brush her she will start some soft purring and paw paddling to show you just how grateful she is. She is very fastidious about her beautiful coat and likes to keep herself spotless too!

Marigold has a way to go before she is totally comfortable around people, however she has already come a very long way.

In foster care, Marigold has started to show us her cheeky side. She would be great in a family with teenagers as long as they are willing to be patient with her. She is not suited to small children.

Marigold will need to be your one and only pet though, as she does not like dogs (they utterly terrify her) and she also does not get along with other cats. As a loner all her life, Marigold is fine in her own company so she is not a clingy, needy cat.

Marigold would also be great with a single person/couple looking for a cat to love, and who will love you right back. Although her personality is taking time to emerge, Marigold is a gentle cat with a very sweet disposition.

Because she is still getting used to being an indoors kitty, Marigold can be a little timid at times so she will need you to show her that she is safe and loved. Loud noises spook her so we think a home that is more on the quiet side would be best.

Marigold will reveal herself to you slowly – but the rewards are huge. You get to give Marigold the life she dreamed of when she was starving and alone. Marigold would love nothing more than a warm bed (and, in time, lap), regular meals and your gentle hand to love her.
