Ink is a super cruisy, fun dog. Definitely a Jack Russell in a Pugs coat. Active and confident like a Jack Russell, but less bossy and reactive than one.

She is 2 years old, while she looks like a pug she has a full snout and has no breathing issues associated with pugs. The vet said she is in great health.

House trained, sits on command, comes when called, listens when asked to stop.

She has the energy of a JRT so needs big walks and loves a game of fetch. She loves to snuggle near you on the couch, but isn’t big on being carried or sitting on your knee.

She currently sleeps in a crate with no fuss, and is good at using the crate to retire to if she feels unsure. She survived a party with 30
people and 6 dogs with aplomb.

She is really friendly with other dogs and has a very good hello on walks and knows who is interested in playing and who isn’t. She does tug a little on the harness at times but can also happily walk alongside you.

She is great friends with her foster JRT brother. Ink loves to play & plays hard. Tug, bitey face, tear a soft toy apart. She can be a bit noisy when she plays, but other than that isn’t yappy at all. She has been fantastic with the 12 week old puppy we are currently fostering.

She can be mouthy and toy destructive when she is wound up, but is learning to moderate this (the mouthing part - she would prefer to continue her habit of stuffed toy destruction).

She would do well in a house with another playful dog, but could be ok on her own with someone who is home a lot and willing to take her to dog irks to socialise. She already knows how to “dog” and she previously lived as an only dog. She is ok being left alone for short period, She hasn’t been tested whole days on her own. Given her previous living arrangements and preference for company, it’s probably preferable that she has people around more often than not.

Ink’s ideal home would be somewhere she could be treated like the tomboy princes she is. She would love a filling breakfast followed by big morning walk or trip to an oval to play with friends and chase balls. She would then like a nice couch, or cushion at your feet while you wfh, to snuggle up on. A midday chewy treat, followed by a quick game of tug, or fetch or bitey face (with resident dog companion) would be followed up by another lovely nap. After a yummy dinner she would then like to burn off a bit more energy, maybe destroy a stuffed toy if you’re indulgent, before curling up beside you while you watch tv.

While all this is going on you will need a little firmness and dog smarts to keep her on her improvement path - respect for cushions, human hands are not for bitey games, and “yes you do need to go into the wet yard to do your business” for starters.
