Hello there…. my name is NALA.
Are you looking for an affectionate friend who is always up for a kiss and a cuddle? Guess what? That is me! Nala! I am looking for a loving Forever Home!
I will never be far away from you, and I like to help with whatever you are doing in the house or around the garden. I also enjoy just laying by your side relaxing and snoozing, especially snoozing (I snore)!
Can I come for a ride in your car? I will sit on the back seat, behave myself and just enjoy the ride holding my head out of the window. I don’t bark or jump around in the car. I am just happy to come along.
I love fetching my toys and playing a game of tug-of-war in the garden. I enjoy playing hide and seek with you or you can hide my treats/some of my kibble and that will keep me entertained, too.
I love going for walks. I generally walk well on a loose lead; I can stop and sit before crossing the road and wait patiently when my Foster Parents want to stop and have a chat. However, I am reactive to some dogs on the walks, and I still need to work on that.
My Foster Mum has been taking me to Dog Group Training Classes. I was promoted from Foundation Class to the next level up after just two lessons because I was listening and learning so well. I have learnt to sit, drop, stand, and shake. I know how to wait for my food and how to wait my turn at the gate/door/top of the stairs. I know the command ‘leave it’, too. During dog training classes I am pretty good at ignoring the other dogs as I am just focusing on training.
I am completely housetrained. I learned how to use a doggie door but if you don’t have one that’s ok, too. I just let you know if I need to go outside.
In the evenings I like relaxing with my family inside and when it is bedtime, I am happy to sleep in my crate or on my bed close to yours. Foster Mum takes me outside to toilet before bedtime and then I just sleep all night snoring away.
My Foster Mum says I am good at staying home alone. I don’t cry or dig, and I am not destructive. I will let my humans know when someone is entering the property but when I get told the visitors are ok to come in I am friendly and ask for pats and cuddles.
Sometimes I don’t realise how big I am when playing but I am friendly with kids. I can’t live with cats, small dogs, or pocket pets as I would want to chase them.
I am selective with my doggie friends, and I need very slow introduction to other dogs. Foster Mum says this is something I need to work on. It's best if I was the only dog in your home, so I don’t have to share you.
If you feel I could be the perfect addition to your house, please come and meet me. I will make a fantastic companion if you can offer me heaps of love, commitment, and further training.
