About Belle
Belle is a super affectionate beauty. She lives for cuddles and pats. She will tap you with a paw if you stop patting her too soon. She will give you a nudge or lean on you to let you know she’s available for a smooch.
Belle loves her own human family but also loves to meet all the new lovely humans on her walks or visits. Her kind, gentle eyes and warm grin means this cheeky girl makes friends very quickly.
Belle is doing very well in foster care, learning all the house rules and starting to respond to some basic cues.
On her walks, Belle now walks well and is happy to amble and sniff her way around the neighbourhood. After a good walk she will settle on her bed to snooze the day away. Belle has her afternoon walk and dinner then perks up considerably. She loves to entertain you with her random zoomies and play. It's her happy time, walked, fed and being with her humans. Nothing is better.
On her walks Belle enthusiastically greets dogs like her - loves greyhounds and any other sighthounds. She is just a bit wary of some of these stranger looking creatures that are fluffy or jump about and yap at her. Belle loves to play with another dogs at home. She’d be very happy to share her home with another suitable dog of a similar size.
Belle has not spent much time alone so she’d appreciate a home where her humans are home more often than not.
Belle is a unique Beauty with her noble Roman nose and distinctive white markings. She is the complete package. The perfect balance of perky and cheeky moments to make you smile laugh as well as the calm and gentle companion when your share the quieter times at home.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
