About Louie
Please meet Louie, the sweet natured 4 year and 10 month old Moodle
Louie is a very sweet boy who is looking for an amazing family that will understand his quirks.
We will ask that you do please read his bio in FULL before applying.
Louie’s ideal home will be with a female owner – he is very protective and loving towards any female in the house – he will always have his ‘favorite human’ but if they are not in the house he will happily go to another person in the house (but be prepared if his favorite human comes home you will be dumped in a heartbeat).
Louie is looking for a quiet home where he can be with his person / people and just have a calm and quiet life.
Louie has some anxiety and as such we are looking for a home for him where someone is home more often than not, works from home or is a homebody. Louie loves to be in the same room as his humans.
Louie is not comfortable around young kids and will snap at them if they crowd him or are too boisterous - for this we will be asking for a home with no children under the age of 13.
Louie is toilet trained and will go all night without issue. He has just discovered the doggie door and loves to wander in and out to the backyard to toilet, explore or to just let the people passing know that he’s watching them.
Other dogs are not his cup tea, he will acknowledge them in passing on a walk but that’s as far as he would like to take it and needs to be your only fur baby. He has lived with a cat in the past but doesn’t currently.
He walks beautifully on a lead - at your pace whether that is fast or slow and knows the commands, sit, stay, shake and to the delight of his foster family he also is happy to play dead when it suits him.
Louie travels well in the car and whilst he can get in and out of the car by himself he does also like being lifted – treats will help with him suddenly being able to do this himself.
He needs someone who understands and knows that he takes a little while to warm up at first and likes to do the approaching. He does not like to be picked up by anyone he has not given approval to, he will show this with a little growl, but once he knows you’re his human he falls head over heels and it’s all cuddles and belly rubs from there.
Louie loves the quiet life in your company, he loves a walk, playing with water, a snuggle, and to play with his toys when the mood takes him.
He currently loves to sleep on the end of his foster mum or foster sister’s bed. The couch or floor are also very comfy but he is not a fan of dog beds.
Louie enjoys his foster dad cuddles and walks but really loves his females and can be protective of males approaching them, a verbal correction by his foster mum usually does the trick, he is a bit of a self-appointed security guard.
Louie of course has that glorious Moodle coat which needs to be maintained and regular grooming, so please keep this in mind when applying as it’s an ongoing expense – this is something that is not negotiable unless you want a tangled woolly sheep in your home!
If you are looking for a dog that is going to sit on your lap immediately and give endless cuddles, then Louie is not for you.
However, if you are looking for a family member - one that you are willing to continue to work with Louie 's nervousness, show him what affection is and how good it feels to have a pat and cuddle then this beautiful boy could be suited for you.
