About Candy
Meet Candy!
Unfortunately our beautiful Candy has spent more than half of her lifetime in care. She was rescued as a very frightened young cat who was only eleven months old. The poor sweet girl was so scared she used to hide out in places only she could find, and would come out of hiding to eat during the dark hours when she thought she would be safe.
At this point in time she was even afraid of other animals. We have not rushed Candy, but alowed her to trust at her own pace. She has been in her current foster home for almost a year. Candy is one of several cats and dogs and takes her place confidently amongst them all.
Currently people are a bit more scary than animals to Candy, but she will allow her Carer to pat her and Candy takes her place at the bottom of the bed at bedtime. Candy is not currently a lap cat but has the potential to become one if given the right person and environment. She spends her days lazing in the sun on a sill, eating, snoozing on the couch and eating again.
Candy is still only young with her whole life ahead of her. Her ideal home will be with someone who has the patience to let her shine in her own time. No doubt she will hide out once placed in a new environment but we are sure it will not be for the lenght of time it has taken in the past. She has come a long way and now it is time for her to find her very own forever family. Food is her first love and hand feeding her with roast chicken will win her over in no time. As stated she currently lives with other animals without fuss but a smaller furry family would suit her much better. She has one particular friend in a male cat and they are often found cuddled up together.
Candy is not the cat for everybody. She is a special girl who needs a special someone who will give her time and space to come around, and only then will you reap the reward of her love. If you think you are the special someone for her, we would be happy to answer any queries you may have. We are quite content to keep her in care until we find just the right person/s for her. She truly is special
