Taiko is a very quiet, gentle, well behaved dog. He is house trained, crate trained, great on lead, great in cars and great overall. Taiko is also very aware of his size and has incredible spatial awareness.

Taiko is the perfect work from home buddy, who is perfectly content with napping on your feet and keeping you company all day long. Taiko already knows how to sit, shake, and is very receptive to “ah-ah!” - he will immediately stop what he’s doing if you tell him that he is not supposed to be doing that. He is a huge people pleaser.

Taiko is a bit of an introvert, and is quite anxious about meeting new humans. He will need someone who has the patience to slowly introduce him to new people and situations without overwhelming him. If Taiko gets overwhelmed, he may temporarily forget his leash-manners and will also feel uncertain about socialising with new dogs. He will need someone who is confident in their ability to safely socialise him and build his confidence, to ensure that Taiko is no longer defined by his anxiety.

Taiko is super chill and low maintenance. While he doesn’t really need a yard, he would not complain about having some space to have a curious sniff around and play fetch in. Taiko loves his daily walks although his ultimate happy place is at home with you.

Once Taiko warms up to you, he will never leave your side. All he wants to do is snuggle on the couch and be around you. He is the most loyal, affectionate dog, and he just can’t wait to meet his new forever family. Taiko is untested with cats, good with dog savvy and respectful children and could live with a compatible resident dog or be an only dog.
