About Max
Max was found walking down a road with cars behind him, scared and injured. His shoulder had a huge, open, bleeding wound, and he was just skin and bones. After a little coaxing he finally hopped into my car and we went straight to the vet to search for his owner. The microchip revealed an owner who told us max was stolen out of her yard in the manly area 2 years ago, when he was just 6 months old, so we have no idea where he has been living these last couple of years, but i can tell you he has been well cared for some of that time as his learned behaviour would indicate. I would say it’s his most recent owner that has been neglectful and horrible hence his emaciated appearance, wound and wariness. This beautiful boy is quickly coming out of his shell though is still a little wary of strangers, particularly men. He is not in any way aggressive, he just backs away. He did take to my partner instantly though so if you’re a kind, gentle and loving person or family, max will love you and show you his gratitude instantly. It has only been a couple of days since coming home from the vet but already max is behaving like a regular, happy boy, so in no time at all he’ll be completely back to the way he always should have been. Max loves other dogs. He took to my 2 staffies in a heartbeat and is just so gentle and friendly. He’s fairly inquisitive with my cats but means them no harm, just curious. He is highly intelligent, super well behaved, sits when asked, comes when called, and understands doggie behaviour like not stealing food from others and quickly backs off when told (by a subtle warning growl). He’s housetrained, protective of his yard, enjoys riding in a car, and is more than happy to just relax at home on the floor chilling out without complaining. He is so very very sweet and gentle, and absolutely loves giving and receiving kisses and cuddles – he just wants to be near you. Max is definitely looking for someone who wants a real family member who will be treasured forever. I would love to keep him but already have 6 rescued pets so sadly i need to find him someone else. Someone who will give him lots of love and attention, take him out for exercise most days (dog parks, on/off lead walks, jogging, beaches), and want him to be inside with them when they’re home – he would not cope with being an outside only dog. Max is 2½ years old, is a gorgeous rottweiler x, is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested and wormed, and his wound is healing nicely with antibiotics after surgery. Please call michelle on 0417 261 214 if you’d like to make this beautiful boy part of your family
