About Forest ~ 6yr Old Greyhound(On Trial 25/6/22)
Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Forest does not run like he used to. He has learnt a new pass time…sleeping, cuddling, strolling. I’m fairly sure he’s figuring out how to play golf and lawn bowls as he sinks very happily into retirement.
Forest is a 6-year-old, desexed male Greyhound. He was once a racer, but he has very happily left it all behind him. Everywhere he goes he gets a rockstar welcome. Everyone wants one of his all- encompassing greyhound cuddles. Who can resist that lean in?
While he has been in foster care, he has lived with a few whippets, he does wonder why they are in such a hurry all the time. He has met so many dogs, big and small, and he is a fan of them all. What’s the perfect home for Forest. Yours! If you have minimum 5-6 foot fences, the ability to give him a little walk daily, lots of comfortable places for him to lay his body both inside and out, then you may be the perfect match he has been waiting for. While he has been living with smaller dogs, he is untested with cats and pocket pets (or fluffy little dogs). One can assume that his previous training may kick in if exposed.
He will be happy to live with other dogs. He is able to be left at home while you work so long as he has the ability to be inside and outside at whim. Forest loves car trips and meeting new people. He has met young children but not lived with them, not surprisingly, he loves them. Due to his size, I would suggest homes with children 5 years and older would be suitable.
He does have some scars from his previous life including only a couple of toes on one paw, but he has been given a very clean bill of health. He is up to date on all his vet work and will make someone a perfect companion for years to come.
Forest is currently living on the Central Coast of NSW. His adoption fee is $350 which ensures he is up to date on all vet work as well as flea, tick and worming. At this stage he is not available for interstate adoption. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact his carer through ecarty7@gmail.com.
