Leo hasn’t been very well treated in the past. He was found as a stray and seems to have suffered some abuse. He is a bit scared of men and strangers. And will bark if he he frightened. He has been known to nip if he is rough handled , even if it’s unintentional. This makes him not suitable for a home with children. And only suitable for someone who is kind and patient and willing to listen to our advice.
Once you have his trust he is very loyal and loving and extremely sweet.
You must discuss this in your application. In the past people have applied and not read the profile, this results in us having to call dozens and dozens of people who aren’t suitable.
So make sure you make mention in your application that you understand his personality, and that you’ve read about his nipping.
Add lots of information into your application.

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
