Kel is a typical kelpie; happy, friendly and a lover of all people. He has been owned by an older gentleman who hasn’t had the ability to train and entertain him. He has lived a fairly sheltered life as a result which means that most situations are novel to him.
In typical kelpie fashion he is very responsive to training and loves to learn new things. We are hopeful that his new home will be one who is interested in helping Kel learn to walk well on lead and teach him how to be a good canine citizen.
He hasn’t been around cats at all but in supervised interaction he chose to back away. He could adjust to living with a cat but would require a slow and supervised introduction.
Kel has had very limited contact with other dogs during his lifetime so he is friendly but socially awkward. He would be happy to share a home with a chilled doggo who won’t mind him being the annoying new friend for a bit.
He’s one lovely dog who will make one lucky family a wonderful new companion!

Adoption details
Please send our friendly volunteers an email about yourself and we will reply to you as soon as possible. We can arrange a meet and greet for you (and existing pets) to spend some time with the pet and see if they are likely to fit into your life.
If you decide to adopt:
- payment is made
- a quick property check is conducted for dogs
-then you can welcome your new pet into your life!
We have a 2 week trial period so if this pet is not the perfect fit for you we will supply you with a full refund minus a $50 administration fee within the trail period. We will also take the adopted pet back at any stage should you be unable to care for them any longer.
