Shep would love to be part of a family.
Shep gives the best big, woolly hugs and loves a cuddle. He will make contented sighs and grunts. Shep is an incredible dog. He is one of those dogs that has a friendly greeting and instant love for anyone he meets and he has massive love for those he lives with.
Shep loves his foster brother, Tripp, who is similar in size. Shep is very affectionate toward Tripp and therefore, is likely to do well with another similar sized dog for company.
Shep has met and interacted with children aged 1 to 5 years and he’s always been at the heart of his foster family times, enjoying them as much as everyone else. Even the toddlers running around and screaming haven’t bothered him; he usually just goes back to sleep and will happily accept pats from the children as they run by.
Shep loves praise and his whole face lights up, which is beautiful to see. He has come a long way in the short time he has spent with his foster family. He is easy to train with lots of praise and food treats of course! He started off not having any lead manners, but within a week and just using praise he’s starting to be an easy companion to walk.
Shep will need secure 6ft fencing as, typical of his breed, he is likely to chase farm stock and other animals. Shep will require at least 30 minutes exercise per day which we see is a very important part of Shep’s future wellbeing.
His foster Dad has said that in his opinion, Shep, with his loving and gentle nature, the right training, and appropriate exercise, will mature into the most beautiful, loving and cruisy dog, typical of his breed.
